A Community Wellness & Family Engagement Event
Freedom & Community Day was created as a family-centered community event designed to celebrate culture, connection, local businesses, and accessible wellness resources within a welcoming public space.
Hosted at KTS Certified Farmers Market during Juneteenth weekend, Father’s Day weekend, and Men’s Health Month, the event brought together local farmers, food vendors, artisans, healthcare organizations, and community members for a day centered around wellness, culture, education, family connection, and community support.
As part of Men’s Health Month, the event also highlighted the importance of accessible preventative healthcare, wellness awareness, and community health outreach for men and families throughout underserved and rural communities.
Through partnerships like Kern Family Health Care’s Mobile Unit, community members were able to connect with local wellness resources and healthcare support services in a welcoming and approachable environment.
In many rural and underserved communities, access to preventative healthcare services, wellness education, and community-centered support systems can be limited.
Events like Freedom & Community Day help bridge those gaps by creating approachable, family-friendly spaces where residents can connect with fresh food, local businesses, wellness resources, healthcare outreach services, and positive community engagement opportunities in one accessible location.
Hosted during Men’s Health Month, the event also encouraged conversations surrounding preventative care, wellness awareness, family health, and the importance of accessible healthcare support within the community.
We believe community wellness is strengthened when families feel connected, informed, supported, and represented.

A Community Wellness Journaling Experience
Hosted during Mental Health Awareness Month and Mother’s Day weekend, Reset & Reflect was created as a free community wellness experience designed to encourage emotional wellness, stress reduction, reflection, and intentional self-care.
Held at KTS Certified Farmers Market, the event invited women to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and participate in guided journaling and mindfulness activities within a calm and supportive community environment.
Participants received journaling materials, reflective prompts, and space to pause from the demands of everyday life and focus on personal wellness.
This event reflects our broader mission to create accessible wellness-centered community experiences that support emotional well-being, connection, education, and healthier lifestyles throughout underserved and rural communities.
During Mental Health Awareness Month, Rights of Passage for Women recognizes the importance of creating safe and accessible spaces for emotional wellness conversations within the community.
Many individuals in rural and underserved communities face barriers to wellness support, stress management resources, and preventative wellness education.
Through programs like Reset & Reflect, we aim to normalize rest, reflection, emotional wellness, and community-centered healing experiences in approachable and inclusive ways.
We believe wellness support should exist not only inside clinical settings, but also within trusted community spaces where people already gather.

Hosted in partnership with Cerro Coso Community College, The Royal Womb Ministries LLC, KTS Certified Farmers Market, and local community growers came together to create an interactive farm-to-table educational experience centered around culture, storytelling, wellness, and fresh food access.
This hands-on experience featured locally sourced ingredients, live cooking instruction, cultural food storytelling, and community-centered conversations designed to reconnect participants to the origins of food and the traditions that nourish us.
Guests participated in a live sada roti cooking demonstration, learned about fresh garden ingredients and preservation techniques, and experienced how cultural foods can support connection, wellness, and community-building.
The experience blended Caribbean culinary tradition with local agriculture, creating an engaging and educational environment that encouraged participants to slow down, learn, share, and reconnect through food.
As part of our broader mission, this program reflects our commitment to accessible wellness education, cultural preservation, food literacy, and community healing through shared experiences rooted in nourishment and tradition.

A Community Wellness & Rhythm Experience
Ground & Groove was created as a free community wellness experience centered around rhythm, movement, mindfulness, and community connection.
Hosted during the first weekend of spring at KTS Certified Farmers Market, the event invited community members of all ages to gather through drumming, movement, music, and shared cultural experience in a welcoming outdoor environment.
Designed to encourage grounding, stress relief, movement, joy, and reconnection, the experience focused on the importance of emotional wellness and community-centered healing through accessible and engaging activities.
No experience was required, and the event was intentionally created to be approachable, family-friendly, and open to the public.
Ground & Groove reflects our continued commitment to creating wellness-centered community activations that encourage connection, preventative wellness practices, movement, mindfulness, and emotional well-being in underserved and rural communities.
Community wellness extends beyond physical health alone.
Experiences centered around movement, rhythm, social connection, mindfulness, and shared cultural engagement can help reduce stress, encourage emotional wellness, and strengthen community relationships.
Through events like Ground & Groove, we aim to create welcoming public spaces where residents can reconnect with themselves, their neighbors, and their community through positive wellness-centered experiences.
We believe wellness should be interactive, accessible, community-centered, and available to people of all ages.

A Community Music & Movement Experience
As part of Black History Month programming, KTS Certified Farmers Market hosted a free community-centered celebration focused on music, movement, culture, and connection.
The event invited community members of all ages to participate in soul line dancing, shared movement experiences, and cultural celebration in a welcoming and family-friendly environment.
Hosted during market hours, the experience encouraged residents to gather through music, joy, dance, and positive community interaction while supporting local farmers, vendors, and small businesses.
This activation reflects our commitment to creating inclusive public spaces where culture, wellness, education, and community engagement can come together in accessible and meaningful ways.
Community wellness includes emotional connection, cultural expression, movement, joy, and shared experiences.
Events centered around music, dance, and cultural celebration can help strengthen social connection, reduce isolation, encourage movement, and create positive community experiences across generations.
Through accessible community activations like this, we aim to create welcoming spaces where residents feel connected, represented, supported, and engaged.
We believe farmers markets can serve as more than shopping spaces — they can become gathering places that strengthen community health, connection, and cultural engagement.

A Family Connection & Community Wellness Experience
Strawberries & Sweethearts was created as a family-centered community event designed to encourage joy, creativity, connection, and positive shared experiences within a welcoming public space.
Hosted at KTS Certified Farmers Market during Valentine’s season, the event invited families and community members to participate in interactive activities including bouquet building, chocolate-dipped strawberries, decorating Valentine treats, and creating personalized gifts for loved ones.
The event encouraged families to slow down, spend intentional time together, support local vendors, and participate in affordable and accessible community-centered activities.
Strawberries & Sweethearts reflects our belief that community wellness includes not only physical health and education, but also opportunities for connection, celebration, creativity, and meaningful shared experiences.
Positive community experiences help strengthen emotional wellness, social connection, and family engagement.
In many communities, families have limited access to affordable, welcoming spaces where they can gather, create memories, and participate in interactive activities together.
Through family-centered events like Strawberries & Sweethearts, we aim to create approachable public experiences that encourage connection, joy, creativity, and stronger community relationships while also supporting local farmers, artisans, and small businesses.
We believe healthy communities are built not only through access to food and wellness resources, but also through opportunities for people to gather, celebrate, and connect.
